The Fatherhood Quality Mark, to be launched by Fathers Direct at its national conference next month, is aimed at any agency that works with children and families, including local authorities and health services.
David Bartlett, Fathers Direct's services manager and one of the organisation's co-founders, said bodies working towards the mark would be encouraged to look at their overall policies and procedures and offered information and staff training. "A core idea of the quality mark will be to look at ways of reaching men and fathers on their own territory," he said.
The move comes as new research argues the Government could do more to make Britain more father-friendly.
