The family support charity's Family Changes programme will offer informal support and advice to grandparents looking after their grandchildren.
The three-year initiative will develop information on advocacy and advice for grandparents who are contemplating residence orders and guardianship, and will try and raise awareness of the needs of children, parents and grandparents whose lives are dominated by substance abuse.
It will also link up kinship care teams with drug services to offer family support to demonstrate the necessity for both teams to work together. The work is funded by the City Bridge Trust.
