Faith-based youth work: Cafe course boosts Christian message

Faith-based organisation Youth for Christ witnessed a surge in attendance after holding youth sessions at a Starbucks cafe in Cambridge.

More than 90 people attended the Exploration Station course, which offers participants an opportunity to explore the meaning of life and take part in discussions on themes such as "Can Christians play violent video games?" and "Why wasn't Jesus a woman?"

Jim Overton, centre director, said the course helped spread the Christian message to a wider audience. "There was something about the approach that captured people's imagination," he said.

Eighty-seven per cent of attendees said they would like to see similar events in the area.
