Every child matters: DfES issues district council guidance

The Department for Education and Skills has issued new guidance on the role of district councils in improving outcomes for children.

The guidance is to help district and county councils work together andexamines what can be gained from joint working.

It includes tick-box checks for both types of council.

For example, district councils are asked to consider whether there iseffective district representation within children's trust arrangementsat county level.
