The Minority Ethnic Network Family Day will help minority ethnic deafblind young people to make friends and build community networks. Sarah Teichler, project co-ordinator for the network at Sense, said: "We want to make sure our membership reflects the population and to reaffirm contact with young people and families." As well as providing activities such as swimming, arts and crafts and sensory play, young people and their parents will get information on support services.
About 12 per cent of applicants to Sense's holiday programme are from minority ethnic groups.
The event will be held on 20 May at the Royal Schools for the Deaf in Manchester.
