Elsecar Neighbourhood Nursery, Barnsley

1 min read Early Years
What is this? The nursery has made use of some extra space by building a library area, which is used regularly by children who attend the nursery and their parents.

How did it start? The space was previously used to store buggies, but the nursery owners decided that they could put it to better use. After a few fundraising events the area was cleared out and shelves, along with a range of children's books, were added to turn it into a library.

Who uses it? The library is used by the children who attend the nursery on a daily basis during the week, but is also open for parents. It is situated right by the entrance so parents can stop by and browse the books after dropping their children off. As with regular lending libraries, they can borrow books, or take part in a book exchange with other parents.
