Education News: Teaching - Video games used as learning aids

A school in the West Midlands is planning on using video games to help teach history to school children facing exclusion.

It will use commercial video games to teach the history curriculum toeight children at the Joseph Leckie Community Technology College.

The project is being run by youth work organisation LearnPlay Academywith the school, which is funding the work.

Stephen Hands, head of LearnPlay Academy, said the idea was to get thepupils interested in learning by using games they may play at home.
