Education News: School design - Pupils invited to draw ideal school

Children are invited to draw their ideal school and design a "safe and appealing" toilet through a resource to help organisations involve young people in school building projects.

The A-Z Sketchbook of School Build and Design has been launched by School Works, a government-funded body set up four years ago to help in the design of school buildings.

Ty Goddard, managing director of School Works, hoped the sketchbook would create a "common language" among key stakeholders involved in designing and building schools.

"Everyone who uses a school should have a say in the design of it," he said.
