EDUCATION NEWS: Primary schools - Place to Be extends support scheme

A scheme providing emotional and therapeutic support is to be offered to more than 25,000 extra primary school pupils.

The Place to Be already runs projects in 84 schools, covering more than 75,000 children.

By 2006 it hopes to be working in at least 150 schools.

The project enables schools in an area to form support clusters, which have access to money from sources such as the Children's Fund and single regeneration budget funding.

Therapists and councillors provide one-to-one support and group sessions for pupils.
