Ofsted inspectors praised the Phoenix School for successfullyintegrating vulnerable pupils and said it "works outstandingly well inpartnership with other agencies to meet all pupils' needs".
The school runs an inclusion centre that supports young people at riskof exclusion and those new to the school. It also employs two familyworkers who work with families and run parenting classes.
Head teacher Neil Stonehouse said: "The Phoenix has become a major partof its community, working in close partnership with pupils, parents,governors and staff as well as other professional agencies."
The school, which was placed in special measures just nine years ago,has now risen to become one of the top seven per cent of schools inEngland.
