Education News: Exercise - Schools help pupils with fitness classes

Teenage girls in Nottingham will test if links between their schools and fitness clubs help them get fit. The community learning charity ContinYou has joined together with the Youth Sport Trust and Rosemary Conley Diet and Fitness Clubs for the pilot project.

Fitness instructors will teach "Get Jiggy With It" aerobics classes for the girls after school.

"We are promoting activity for life rather than activity just for school," said Jancis Walker, out of school hours learning development officer for ContinYou and the Youth Sports Trust.
