16% of nursery and primary school pupils taking free school meals in January 2005 (13.4 per cent in England)

3.9% of pupils with special educational needs statements in January 2006(2.9 per cent in England)

0.6% of half days missed due to unauthorised absence in 2005/06 (0.79per cent in England)

0.15% of the school population excluded permanently in 2004/05 (0.12 percent in England)

Telford & Wrekin Borough Council is taking a close look at exclusions,according to its recent annual performance assessment, which states:"The authority is concerned that there may be an increase in informalexclusions and is investigating this."
