53.2% of primary pupils did not have English as their first language in January 2004 (11 per cent in England)

- 35.2% of nursery and primary school pupils taking free school meals in January 2004 (14.2 per cent in England)

- 2.4% of primary pupils with special educational need statements in January 2004 (1.6 per cent in England)

- 0.15% of the school population excluded permanently in 2002/03 (0.12 per cent in England)

Yvette Stanley, Camden council's acting director of education, said: "We work closely in partnership with the borough's schools. Together, we have consistently raised educational attainment despite the challenges that are particular to inner London."
