The service has been awarded the first ever British Dyslexia Association quality mark for developing excellent practice in the area.
Association chief executive Susan Tresman said: "Liverpool showed good levels of commitment and excellent practice in terms of leading schools towards inclusivity."
The council's executive member for education, Paul Clein, said: "We are determined to build on this good work."
