It has always emphasised the importance of different professions, such as health, social care and education, communicating with and working with each other under the banner of children's services, while still keeping hold of their individual skills and identity.
The merger with sister title Young People Now to create the weekly Children and Young People Now (see news p3) brings youth services and youth work into the mix too, reflecting what is happening in local and national policy and practice. Children Now readers, whether in early years, social care, health or education, will be able to see how their youth work colleagues, in the statutory and voluntary sectors, are dealing with the issues that affect children's services professionals, and how they are working with other services. Many will already be working with youth workers, whether in multi-disciplinary teams or through children's trusts or integrated projects.
