Early years: Places available on course for leaders

There are still a small number of places left for people interested in training to be the first in a breed of new early years leaders.

With only weeks until the pilot is due to start, six out of the 11training providers still have places for those who want to gain EarlyYears Professional Status.

The Children's Workforce Development Council is also looking for furthertraining providers to take part in the next phase.

The National Day Nurseries Association, which is working with the OpenUniversity, has a small number of places. It has received four times thenumber of expected applicants for its 100 places.

This is not, as reported in Children Now's 30 August-5 Septemberedition, the figure for the whole scheme.

- Details of the training providers with spaces left can be found atwww.cwdcouncil.org.uk.
