Down at my club - Maypole Centre, Birmingham

Matt Morgan, 15, Maypole Centre, Druids Heath, Birmingham

I've been coming to the club for about three years. I found out about the youth centre when the youth workers came into school and handed out some leaflets.

I come here most evenings after school. It's open every day, except Sunday, so it's a great place to go with my friends.

There are lots of activities on offer. We go to the cinema, to theme parks and do sports. This summer, I did a fundraising bike ride in France where I cycled up three mountains. The trip helped to raise £4,500 for the centre.

I really like the Young People's Development Programme the centre runs. You get to do sports like sailing, which is my favourite. I've also helped arrange activities at the centre, such as a gorge-walking trip. The centre also does things like healthy-eating programmes and sexual health stuff.
