Project: Double-Klik

Aim: To give young offenders the chance to give something back to the community

Funding: The project used existing resources Young people, who have been in trouble with the authorities for crimes such as assault and criminal damage, are using their computer skills to help people in their 70s and 80s take their first steps in the digital world.

The Double-Klik initiative was set up by Harrow Youth Offending Team (YOT) to provide young people with meaningful reparation tasks and opportunities to volunteer in their community.

The project allows young people from the YOT, along with volunteers from West London YMCA, to deliver a BBC computer-based learning package to four senior citizens a week, many of whom had never switched on a PC before.
