DCSF creates two new media guides

Youth Work
The Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) has launched a set of materials explaining how youth workers can make the most of social media, film and video.

The two Engaging Through Social Media guides are aimed solely at youth workers and intend to make them aware of the potential of using social media, film and video in projects. Three How to Create a Video films have also been produced, which are designed to be used by a broader audience, including young people themselves.

A spokeswoman from the DCSF said: "We know that using social media is second nature to most young people. But from talking to the people working with them, we found many weren't sure how to promote projects or engage with young people using social media and would appreciate some practical help."
