Darlington set to merge two centres

1 min read Early Years
Darlington Council is to combine two children's nurseries in the town centre.

Following completion of its annual survey of childcare services, the council plans to merge the town's two Kids and Co nurseries, which are based at the Town Hall and Borough Road.

The survey concluded there were more than enough childcare places in the town and that facilities were needed elsewhere in the borough for families with disabled children.

The council is currently conducting a feasibility study - to be completed by the end of May - that will involve consulting with parents and staff. The plan would involve closing the Town Hall nursery and relocating it to the Borough Road site. Around 80 children currently attend the Town Hall nursery.
