
The number of taser incidents involving children is on the rise, with police tasering children as young as 11 years old nearly once a day. According to a report by the Express on Home Office data, the number of cases involving children increased from 27 in 2007 to 323 in 2011. The figures were revealed following a parliamentary question by Liberal Democrat MP Julian Huppert.
A scheme to tackle the stigma attached to mental health problems has found that teenagers' attitudes towards mental health can be improved. Time to Change worked with sixty 14-to 18-year-olds over an 18-month period, encouraging them to co-deliver educational sessions with young people who have experience of mental health problems. At the end of the pilot, the charity found a 1.3 per cent improvement in attitudes towards mental health problems.
