
A national charity for children in care and young care leavers has rebranded with a new name, look and website. From today The Who Cares? Trust will be called Become. Natasha Finlayson, chief executive of Become, said: "We wanted to build on our many strengths and achievements as The Who Cares? Trust while bringing our identity up to date in a way that reflects our vision for children in care and care leavers."
A select committee hearing in which politicians questioned and clashed with the Kids Company founder Camila Batmanghelidjh is to be turned into a musical, a theatre company has said. The Guardian reports that the show, titled The Public Administration and Constitutional Affairs Committee Takes Oral Evidence on Whitehall's Relationship with Kids Company will be a highlight of the Donmar Warehouse's 2017 spring season.
Another senior lawyer has resigned from the inquiry into historical child sexual abuse, it has emerged. The Guardian reports that Aileen McColgan, who was leading the inquiry's investigation into abuse in the Anglican and Catholic churches, quit over concerns about the inquiry's leadership. In September, the inquiry's lead counsel, Ben Emmerson, resigned a day after he was suspended, and his junior colleague, Elizabeth Prochaska, also stood down.
An evidence-based programme that aims to reduce the risk of non-accidental head injuries in babies is being launched across community health and social care organisations across the UK, it has been announced. The launch of the Coping with Crying programme by the NSPCC follows a four-year pilot phase aimed at helping parents who feel they do not receive enough support to deal with their baby's crying.?
The deputy chair of the Conservative Party has been appointed as chair of the board of trustees at national sports charity StreetGames. Amanda Sater, who is also a member of the Youth Justice Board and a serving magistrate, takes over from Steve Hodkinson, who has served as StreetGames chair since 2012.
