Kelly Forward, 18, Sherelle Samuel-Bissick and Michaela Blu Yeaman, both 17, devised and led the 10-week course called Me, Myself and I.
Girls aged 13 or older were invited to weekly meetings to discuss issues of celebrity culture, dieting and ways to combat insecurity in young women. The group then wrote and filmed a screenplay on self-esteem that will be made into a DVD.
Kelly said: "We decided on this course because self-esteem is something lots of girls need help with, especially when images of airbrushed celebrities in magazines or on TV sometimes make them feel bad about themselves. We've already noticed quite a good change in their attitudes."
