Crime: Tory leader speaks on police reforms

Conservative Party leader David Cameron outlined his views on police service reform to youth workers in east London on Monday.

Cameron visited Crime Concern's Dalston Youth Project in Hackney.

"The long-term agenda has to be about diverting young people away from crime, but that won't work unless we grasp the difficult nettle of reforming the police service," he said.

The Conservatives favour a more community-led force, with greater accountability to local people. Cameron is also in favour of reducing bureaucracy.
