The board, which launched in February 2009, aims to reduce knife crimeand youth violence across the capital by promoting best practice amongagencies and councils. It is due to complete its work and report on itsachievements in March 2011.
Rather than being replaced with another structure focusing on reducingyouth violence, its work is to come under the ownership of a new body,the London Crime Reduction Board.
The new board, to be led by the Metropolitan Police Authority, is set toimprove co-ordination in London across a range of crime- related issues.This will include antisocial behaviour, domestic violence, hate crime,and dangerous dogs.
