Councillors face youth questions

Around 50 young people from schools and youth organisations in Medway were given the chance to question their councillors as part of Local Democracy Week (12-18 October).

Chaired by BBC Radio Kent's John Warnett, the Youth Question Time was the first of its kind in the area and saw five elected members quizzed on topics including education, leisure facilities, antisocial behaviour and environmental issues.

Councillor Alan Jarrett, portfolio holder for finance, praised the constructive approach of the audience, commenting: "We are always looking to improve the services we offer and with events such as this we can learn more about what really matters to the young people of Medway."
