CONNEXIONS: Tees Valley staff sign contracts forperformance-related pay

1 min read

In September last year, management, staff and representatives from Unison liaised with external consultants on the development of a new salary structure, to which all existing posts were matched.

Concurrently, management produced a new contract to replace old arrangements with a 37-hour week to be worked any time between 8am and 10pm Monday to Friday and half-day Saturdays. It moves away from collective bargaining to a locally determined reward scheme, to be developed in the next 12 months.

Following consultation, 99 per cent of Connexions Tees Valley's 212 staff, 112 of whom are personal advisers, have signed their new contracts.

Fiona Blacke, chief executive at Connexions Tees Valley, believes the new working hours mean that staff will be available when young people need them.
