1 min read

The service has moved into headquarters in Blyth and has 76 personal advisers. The service, which is operating under the direct delivery model, will have five branded one-stop shops and 32 access points across the area, in schools and colleges.

John Cook, chief executive of Connexions Northumberland, said: "We are promoting the service via a local radio roadshow until Easter and then a major ad campaign, as Northumberland is a very rural area.

"We've been setting up PAs in areas as close to young people as possible, and have good referral agencies so as not to overload caseloads." Separately, a new Connexions centre in Bebington, Greater Merseyside, is due to be opened on 4 April. Facilities will include free internet access.
