Groups can receive grants of up to 1,000 if they can demonstrate sustainable, collective action among young people combating lawlessness and violence, and promoting community safety and racial harmony.
Managed by the London Institute, Kids' Clubs Network and PR agency PR21, the awards get a grant from the Home Office's Active Community Unit.
Head teacher Philip Lawrence was stabbed to death outside his school in Maida Vale, north London, in 1995 when he intervened in a fight.
