CITIZENSHIP: Businesses to help citizenship schemes

The Partners in Citizenship conference was co-hosted by the Department for Education and Skills and Barclays. It gave leaders from business, education and non-governmental organisations a chance to discuss the disparity between their worlds, and how they could work to deliver mutual benefits.

Sir Tom Shebbeare, chief executive of The Prince's Trust, said: "Organisations need to protect their integrity. If people do not rush into sponsorship, effective and beneficial projects can be created."
