Chyps calls for more resources

Youth Work
Community organisations need more government investment if they are to help councils deliver youth work, sector leaders have claimed.

The Confederation of Heads of Young People's Services (Chyps) broughtmore than 40 heads of service together last week, in its first meetingsince the new government formed.

David Wright, chief executive of Chyps, said ministers must supportcommunity groups to forge partnerships with councils.

"Good community development would support quality youth work in localcommunities," he said.
