Children's Workforce Development Council - Practitioner-led Research

1 min read Careers
What it is: The Children's Workforce Development Council (CWDC) was set up to make sure everyone working with children and young people can access the best possible training, qualifications and support.

The Practitioner-led Research programme provides small grants to people working in organisations on the grounds that they are willing to help the CWDC to gain a better understanding of existing and developing practice.

How much is on offer: Up to £3,500 for practitioners and up to £4,000 for applications from children and young people, supported by a relevant worker or volunteer.

What it will fund: The CWDC wants to commission up to 100 Practitioner-led Research projects during 2008/09. The projects must focus on how well integrated working is functioning in the sector. The CWDC wants to know what children and young people think of the services they receive, how the workforce works together across organisations and boundaries to deliver integrated services, how practitioners are transferring working policies into practice, what current effective practice looks like and how services could be developed further.

Who can apply: Anyone who works with children and young people on a paid or voluntary basis. Applications are also welcomed from groups of children and young people who use relevant services, and are supported by a paid worker or volunteer.

Who it has funded: Last year the charity Pyramid received funding to carry out research into how Pyramid Clubs impacted on the social and emotional development of children.

How to apply: Visit www.cwdcouncil.org.uk/tenders or email tenders@cwdccouncil.org.uk
