
I would concentrate on making the social services department the most effective in the country. I would make sure it communicated with the necessary people and teams so all young people have the chance to live a safe, happy and healthy life.
As a youth work apprentice, I believe the need for youth workers is very high. I would encourage the youth service to focus on all areas; privileged and deprived.
As the director of children's services, I would encourage more intergenerational projects across the county, as this is a good learning curve for both the young and elderly.
Since becoming an apprentice I can see that young people need to be more aware of training in the workplace. I would support businesses in getting involved with schemes like this and show them how they can improve their services with the help of young people.
