The deal renews the existing arrangement that local Children's Fund partnerships spend 25 per cent of their money on crime reduction projects but prioritises this cash for youth offending teams and Youth Justice Board-approved projects.
The money can be given to non-Youth Justice Board-approved schemes, but only with the permission of the local youth offending team manager.
A Youth Justice Board spokeswoman said: "We are very happy with the agreement. It ensures all crime prevention work reaches the vulnerable."
