Conservative childcare spokesman Paul Goodman tabled a question to theDepartment for Education and Skills asking how many actually offeredthese services.
In her answer Hughes restated the Government's aim that "by 2010, therewill be 3,500 centres - one for every community". But she failed toprovide the requested statistics.
