Children's centres: Hackney Sure Start to get a 'satellite'

A children and families centre designed to reach out to Orthodox Jewish families in north east London has been made a satellite site for the local children's centre.

Hackney's Sure Start New River teamed up with children and familyservices charity Norwood to make health and family support servicesavailable at its Somers Centre in Stamford Hill, an area with a highconcentration of Orthodox Jewish residents.

Under plans for the National Children's Centre programme, the SomersCentre will become a satellite site where the local Orthodox Jewishcommunity will be able to access services designed for them.
