Children warned on skin cancer danger

Health
A project to advise young children about the importance of protecting themselves against the sun has been launched by the Bradford Skin Cancer Action Group.

Protect Your Little Sunbeams is a pack to help teachers explain the dangers of skin cancer to children aged between seven and 11. It was launched yesterday (6 May) at schools in Bradford, Kirklees and Calderdale as part of Sun Awareness Week. The pack includes slides and an information sheet to help teachers tell children about skin cancer and why they need to use protection.

The comic characters Captain Safe Sun, Junior Safe Sun and Evil Professor Sunburn help explain the message.
