The three-year £2m Positive Destinations programme will support new ways of helping Neets enter work or training and is part of Children in Need's drive to become a more proactive funder (CYP Now, 10-16 September 2008).
The cash will be shared between charities Shelter, School-Home Support, Young Enterprise Scotland, Bryson Charitable Group Belfast and Groundwork.
Sheila Jane Malley, director of grants and policy at BBC Children in Need, said the programmes would offer long-term solutions to re-engaging young people in education and training. "The overall mission of Positive Destinations is to generate learning and create sustainable solutions beyond its own lifespan, which can work within existing structures and voluntary provision," she said.
