The NSPCC-run helpline will launch a website giving children access to one-to-one confidential support and generic advice on particular problems.
The new service will be based on the NSPCC's low-key pilot website, There4me.com, which has provided limited support for 12- to 16-year-olds in northern England and Northern Ireland since 2001.
Christine Renouf, director of helpline services at the NSPCC, said the online service was being financed with some of the £30m the government provided last year to develop its helplines.
"We didn't promote There4me more widely because the demand outstripped our capacity to provide online counselling, but the funding from central government and the additional NSPCC funds gave us the opportunity to integrate it into ChildLine," she said.
