Childcare: Charity names two for CEO job share

A childcare charity that campaigns for parents' right to work flexibly is leading by example and employing two people to share the role of chief executive.

The Daycare Trust has appointed Emma Knights and Alison Garnham as itsnew chief executives. They both started at the beginning of thismonth.

Knights previously worked with the Legal Services Commission, LocalGovernment Association and Child Poverty Action Group. Garnham is theformer head of policy at the charity One Parent Families.

"We are delighted to have Emma and Alison joining us," said the trust'schair Rita Stringfellow. "It's a very good role model for anorganisation such as ours that campaigns for flexible working forparents to have them here in a job-sharing capacity. Each will bringcomplementary skills which, at this crucial time, will take the trustforward in its campaigning and other activities."
