Among the reforms the charity is calling for are 20 hours of freechildcare a week for three- and four-year-olds, and free places atafter-school, holiday and breakfast clubs for poorer families.
Alison Garnham, joint chief executive of the trust, said: "TheGovernment has made enormous progress in improving the balance betweenwork and family life, and the accessibility of childcare. Our plan isintended as a road map to further progress on this journey."
The plan also calls for new pay standards for childcare workers and forconsideration to be given to extending parental leave to two yearsinstead of the current one.
"Our vision is a future where every parent has access to thehigh-quality childcare that suits their needs at a price they canafford," Garnham said.
