Child Support Agency: Help from... Ipsea

Ipsea, the Independent Panel for Special Education Advice, is a volunteer-based organisation that provides a one-stop source of long-term, in-depth advice and advocacy for parents and carers of children with special educational needs.

It can offer free advice on the assessment and statementing process, with referral for second professional opinions, home visits, help at meetings, and advice and representation at special educational needs tribunal appeals.

Many volunteers providing telephone advice and support at tribunals are parents of children with special educational needs who have been helped by Ipsea in the past.

Ipsea is trying to get information to low-income families via a national targeting programme.
