Help from ... Rathbone Training

The charity Rathbone provides learning and training support for people experiencing significant disadvantage.

As part of its work it offers two free helplines. Both are open from 10am to 4pm Monday to Friday.

The special education advice line provides advice and support to parents of children with special educational needs.

Trained volunteers help parents write letters and prepare for meetings and appeals. Information is available on issues ranging from appeals and tribunals to school exclusions and admissions.

The Asian education advice line is aimed at parents who do not have English as a first language. Advice and leaflets are available in Urdu, Punjabi, Bengali and Hindi.
