The plan, drawn up by the agency's chief executive Stephen Geraghty, isdesigned to deliver short-term improvements while aGovernment-commissioned review examines what to do with the agency inthe long-term.
Geraghty's plan sets out proposals to restructure the agency'sworkforce, clamp down on parents who fail to pay the maintenance theyowe and boost efforts to track down missing parents. It also reveals afresh attempt to sort out the agency's ongoing problems with thecomputer system, which is supplied by IT firm EDS.
Work and pensions secretary John Hutton said the plan would deliverresults and pledged 30m of funding to pay for the use of privatedebt collectors to chase non-paying parents.
