Child protection: NSPCC sets up Merseyside facility

NSPCC is hoping to expand its child protection services in Merseyside with the opening of its first integrated and purpose-built facility.

Based in Liverpool, the Hargreaves Centre brings all the charity'sMerseyside services under one roof, including ChildLine, theThere4me.com internet service, and specialist teams working withchildren who have been abused. It is the biggest NSPCC centre outside ofLondon.

Alex Leith, assistant director for Merseyside and Cheshire NSPCC, said:"Having all the work happening on one site will extend the number ofpeople we can help."
