CHILD PROTECTION: NSPCC relaunches training programme

New courses include internet safety and "grooming", supporting witnesses, multi-agency working and involving young people in welfare decisions.

The NSPCC's resource centre also has a library for youth workers.

Enid Hendry, NSPCC's head of training, said: "There are areas where child protection has remained a low priority for people working with children and families." Hendry said the demand for training will increase in the wake of the Government's green paper on children's services.

According to the NSPCC, grant-making organisations and insurance companies are likely to insist on child protection awareness training for professionals working with young people.
