
The strategy also confirms primary care trusts (PCTs) will receive an additional £340m to spend on disabled children from 2008 to 2011, as well as the £340m allocated to local authorities through the Aiming High for Disabled Children programme and £90m capital funding from the Children's Plan.
Although PCT money has already been allocated, children's professionals and families have not known how much has been available as it was bundled into PCTs' overall allocation.
The announcement will enable campaigners to divide the total amount by the number of PCTs to give an indicative budget for each area.
Christine Lenehan, director of the Council for Disabled Children, said: "This will give us a far clearer picture of the funding that has already been available and will be for the coming year. That will enable us to hold PCTs to account on what they should be spending. It will also help PCT managers to properly channel resources into this."
