Cashback for Communities Small Grants Scheme

1 min read Funding Youth Work
Grants for local volunteer groups in Scotland

What is it? The CashBack for Communities Small Grants Scheme supports local volunteer-led groups to improve existing programmes for young people or get new projects off the ground. The scheme is managed by a partnership of six national volunteer-led youth organisations: The Scouts Scotland, Girlguiding Scotland, The Boys' Brigade, The Girls' Brigade in Scotland, Clubs for Young People (Scotland) and Youth Scotland.

How much is on offer? The scheme provides start-up grants of up to £1,000 to get a new group up and running, as well as programme grants of up to £2,000 to support existing groups to meet the cost or part of the costs of a project or programme of activity. The scheme particularly welcomes applications from new groups in areas of deprivation or need. New groups must have been established for at least six months before they can apply for funding. Both new and existing groups that have previously received a grant can apply for fresh funding after 12 months. Priority is given to start-up grant applications, and to youth groups applying for the first time.
