Under plans drawn up by the Camden Sustainability Task Force, car exclusion zones would be set up around schools during school run hours to combat congestion and pollution.
Liberal Democrat councillor Alexis Rowell, chair of the taskforce and the borough's "eco-champion", said the measure was one of many being considered. "Safer streets, lower speed limits, escorted groups of children, separated cycle lanes, school buses and better public transport with better access for parents with buggies are also ways we can help make the school run more sustainable," he said.
