Campaign to lure a million more pupils to school meals

1 min read Education
An appeal to get a million more children eating school meals by 2010 launched yesterday (16 October).

The School Food Trust wants head teachers across England to sign up to the Million Meals campaign. Schools taking part will be asked to follow a 10-point plan for boosting the number of pupils eating school meals with support from the School Food Trust.

Prue Leith, chair of the School Food Trust, said: "We know eating school food is good for the health and wellbeing of our children. Not enough children are eating the new food and we hope all schools will sign up and become members of our campaign and that together we can make a difference to the lives of children and young people."
